Good Things Privacy Policy

Effective date: May 8, 2026. This policy explains what Good Things stores, what permissions it uses, and how to contact the developer.

1. Overview

Good Things is designed as a local-first gratitude journal. The app does not require an account, does not run ads, and does not use third-party tracking or analytics SDKs.

2. Data stored on your device

The app may store the following information locally on your device:

This information is stored using Apple system storage such as SwiftData and UserDefaults. It is not uploaded to a developer-operated backend.

3. Photos

If you add a photo to an entry, Good Things uses Apple's photo picker so you can choose the image. Selected photos are resized and stored with the entry on your device. The app does not upload selected photos to a server.

4. Reminders and notifications

If you enable reminders, Good Things asks iOS for notification permission and schedules local notifications on your device. You can change or disable reminders in the app or in iOS Settings.

5. Face ID and device authentication

If you enable Face ID lock, Good Things uses Apple's Local Authentication system to ask the device to unlock the app. Good Things does not receive or store your Face ID, Touch ID, passcode, or biometric data.

6. Export and deletion

The app includes controls to export your entries as files. Exported files leave the app only when you choose where to save or share them. You can also delete your saved app data from inside Good Things, or by deleting the app from your device.

7. Tracking, advertising, and sale of data

Good Things does not track you across apps or websites, does not show advertising, and does not sell personal information.

8. Website hosting

This public website is hosted by Vercel. Like most hosting providers, Vercel may process standard request information such as IP address, browser details, requested URL, and timestamps to deliver the site, secure the service, and maintain reliability.

9. Children

Good Things is a general-audience app. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-run backend.

10. Changes

If the app adds accounts, cloud sync, analytics, advertising, or other data-sharing features in the future, this policy will be updated before or alongside that release.
